What to see in Macau : egg tarts and more.

Macau or Macao is an autonomous region on the south coast of China across the river from Hong Kong. It used to be a Portuguese colony until 1999 and it's the best place in the world to eat egg tarts.
Macau is also famous because of the many casinos on the island, but what attracted me most was its architecture.
All visitors must hold a passport to enter Macao and depending on your country of origin you may also need a visa.

We travelled to Macau on a Turbojet ship in economy class and the voyage was quite pleasant. I strongly recommend planning your visit carefully because if you go there on a day trip you may end up exhausted if you want to see everything. It's better to choose what really interests you and to take it easy.

From the Outer Harbour Terminal, we took a bus to Lou Lim Leoc garden which was very beautiful. After that, we went downtown to follow a route on our own and we saw  ST. Augustine's Square, Dom Pedro V Theatre, St. Laurence's Church. Later we visited the Mandarin's house, we passed by the Moorish Barracks and ended in A-Ma temple.

We didn't stop for lunch, we just bought delicious egg tarts on our way to visit the sights. Read my post on the best egg tarts in China here.
