The Lost Manuscript by Cathy Bonidan : review

The Lost ManuscriptWhen was the last time you wrote a letter? My last letter was two years ago: a Christmas card to a dear friend. Because of the virus, I stopped sending cards and resorted to emails and Whatsapps (a shame!).

If you love writing and receiving letters, you're going to like this epistolary novel which will certainly remind you of a time when we weren't glued to our phones.

In The Lost Manuscript, the characters embark on a quest to look for the co-author of an unpublished novel, and instead of texting non-stop, they take delight in corresponding with each other.

It's not a romantic novel, although there is love, or a mystery one even though the reader is eager to find out who the co-author is. It's a story about the ups and downs of life, good luck and bad luck, and the beauty of communicating with other people and sharing our thoughts, fortune, misfortune, wishes, and dreams.

Cathy Bonidan has written a delightful book that will make you miss the excitement of finding a handwritten letter in your real mailbox.
