Copenhagen in summer.

Last summer I spent one week enjoying the wonderful city of Copenhagen. It's a must for those who love "hygge". The food was tasty and the people were kind. I would gladly go back anytime.

A view of the botanical garden which I visited despite the rain.

The butterfly house was beautiful.

Nyhavn was one of the most popular spots.

Pictures of Donostia- San Sebastian.

These are some of the pictures I took while I spent some days in this beautiful city.

Maria Cristina bridge over Urumea river.

Maria Cristina Hotel where the film stars usually stay during the festival.

The balconies in Constitution Square. People used to watch bullfights from them.
Saint Martin Church

Miramar Palace

The Kursaal Congress Centre and Auditorium where the famous film festival is held.

La Perla: A very fancy Spa, restaurant, and gym.

The city town hall used to be a casino.

This blue tunnel joins the beaches of La Concha and Ondarreta.

This is the church of Santa Maria in the old part of town.

Urgull mountain in Donostia - San Sebastian: the best view of the city.

Urgull Mountain is located at the end of La Concha bay and it's the best place to take photos of the whole city. There, you will see cannons a fortress, and a free museum.

There are several ways to go all the way up to the mountain but all of them on foot and during the day since it closes at night. Head for the old part of town and ask a local and remember to wear comfortable shoes.

You can find more information in English here.

The Moon on a Clear Summer Night

This photo was taken with a not very sophisticated or modern camera, a Nikon B-700. The sky was clear and the night was warm. I love summer nights!

The Comb of the Wind in Donostia - San Sebastian : a surprising sculpture.

Located at the end of Ondarreta beach, in the wonderful city of Donostia - San Sebastian in the north of Spain, these peculiar shapes will certainly surprise you.

The structures were created by the Basque artist Eduardo Chillida in 1977.

If you cannot travel, watch videos.

I miss travelling like crazy, the planning, the expectation, the thrill, the adventures, everything. Lately, I've been watching the TV show Our Man in Japan in which James May shows his peculiar adventures in the land of the rising sun.

Korean Folk Village Review: a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of the city.

On our way by car from Seoul to Daegu, we stopped at the Korean Folk Village. We were extremely lucky because there was nobody else there at that time even though it is a popular tourist destination.

You can see the way people used to live in the past in small villages and there are also some snacks for sale such as traditional rice cake like jeungpyeon (steamed and fermented rice cake), injeolmi (rice cake coated with bean powder), bukeo-gui (grilled dried pollack), or pajeon (green onion pancake) along with dongdongju (traditional Korean liquor).

I think it is worth visiting if you have never been to a similar place.  It is in the country and it felt really good to get away from the city and to breath some fresh air.
